Wedding Photography at The Village Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne

 The Village hotel

Jill & Adi found us while looking for a wedding photographer for their wedding at The Village Hotel Newcastle. We work regularly at this venue and its one of our favourites! They got married at the lovely Earsdon Chapel then had their reception at The Village Hotel.

Getting Ready
Jill was getting ready at home with her bridesmaids and son, when we arrived hair and makeup was underway and everyone was looking beautiful in their dressing gowns with their titles on. There were plenty of drinks flowing and the nerves were starting to kick in a little.

Jill’s son was to give her away and nick found him struggling a little with his cuffs and braces! But after a bit of assistance and a lot of laughs he was all sorted and looking pretty sharp! Jill’s hair had been expertly curled and styled beautifully she was ready for her dress.
Jill was helped into her gown dress by her bridesmaids, with her look complete by adding shoes and jewellery the bride looked amazing and she was ready to go!

The Ceremony
When we arrived at the Chapel in Earsdon Adi was waiting with his best man- they needed their cravats sorting out (so many people struggle with them!) but were looking good in their suits greeting guests. The weather was on side with the sun shining- they feel it was Jill’s dad watching over her giving them luck!

The bridal party had arrived so the guys took their position at the front of the room for the ceremony to start.

The couple made their wedding vows to each other and there were a few different hymns sung. We must say the vicar gave a lovely service. They exchanged wedding rings. It was then announced the groom could kiss his beautiful bride and they were officially married!
The formalities of signing the register were completed then everyone headed outside ready to head off to the next venue- The Village Hotel.

This is a great time to have your photos done together as a couple as guests are less likely to miss you as they will be getting a drink, freshening up, and chatting about the day so far when they arrive at the hotel.

The Romantic Couple’s Portraits
The Village Hotel is often underestimated as a wedding venue due to its location. It actually has a lot to use! We took the couple over the road to the Rising Sun Country Park for some gorgeous shots next to the lake in picturesque surroundings and did a few shots with the vintage car in the car park area.

We then headed back over to the hotel to get some quirky shots inside the Hotel Restaurant. Wedding Photography in the Buca Restaurant is always a little different and gives some unique images which are great. We did some photos with the couple, and then Adi brought his groomsmen round for some fun shots with cards around the godfather table.

The Speeches
By the time we were finished with all the photo fun it was time to head to the Inspiration suite for the speeches and wedding breakfast.
The room looked fab decorated with pretty centre pieces and the guests were all being seated.

The speeches were short and sweet and there was a bit of an emotional speech from Adi’s sister which was lovely and heartfelt. Everyone involved did a great job.
We then took a break to let everyone enjoy their food and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see! We love our Image Projector service as it’s a wonderful way to include evening guests in everything that happened during the day time and a great talking point for guests too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way back out to the bar area while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. We try to keep the family formal photos brief so guest don’t get bored, it usually takes around half an hour, we managed to get them done after the meal before everyone arrived for the evening as this worked out best timing wise on the day. Everyone's wedding is different so things need to be done where they fit in best!

The DJ arrived to set up and the dance floor was put down down to get ready for the party to begin, the projector was up displaying the images for guests to see, and we also had our PropStudio set up for some silly pictures with props for the night! The PropStudio photos are uploaded to our facebook page by the following morning for guests to share and tag themselves- it’s a lot of fun for your guests! We also had a signing frame out as a guest book alternative for everyone to leave messages to the happy couple.

After the cutting of the cake was done Mr and Mrs Laverick stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance as newlyweds. We set off one of our confetti cannons to add to the first dance fun.

A lot of people were on the dance floor which made for some great pictures and everyone was having a lot of fun! They were still enjoying themselves when we headed off home!
Overall it was a great day for everyone with lots of genuine emotion and we had a great time. We hope they like their photos and had a great day, we certainly enjoyed capturing them!

Thanks to Jill and Adi for choosing us to photograph their wedding day, we wish you all the best for the future together as Mr & Mrs Laverick!

Wedding Photography at The Royal Station Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne

Tracy & Mark- The Royal Station hotel

Tracy and Mark booked us for their wedding photography at The Royal Station hotel in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They wanted someone to capture their day in a natural relaxed way showing everyone enjoying themselves.

Getting Ready
The girls were all getting ready at the hotel for the big day- hair and make up transformations were underway when we arrived, Cerys the flower girl was very excited to a be a princess.

The bridesmaids all had amazing bright pink bridesmaid’s dresses (there had been a bit of a disaster with the dressmaker they were originally ordered from but fortunately they found someone to fix them in time!)

The bride had a beautiful tea length wedding dress and Laura was suffering from major shoe envy at Tracy’s fabulous wedding shoes!
Nick popped downstairs to catch up with the guys who were in great spirits waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Now this was a first for weddings for us- there had been a problem with the registrar and the registrar was running late! This is unheard of in the wedding industry so caused a few extra nerves as everyone was ready and waiting! Around 45 minutes later they arrived and the ceremony could finally go ahead!

The Ceremony
The guests were all ushered in to their seats to await the arrival of the bridal party. Mark was at the front not looking to nervous!
Mark finally got to see his bride and the ceremony began. The couple kept it short and sweet and made their vows to each other and there were some lovely readings- excellent job there!

With the formalities over Tracy and Mark were now Mr and Mrs Mitchell- Mark could kiss his bride. The register was signed and they left up the aisle with a not so traditional ‘Rock’ gesture which we loved!
We headed to the hotels beautiful staircase to get some group shots of the together, it’s a recognisable staircase with some great chandeliers around too.

The Romantic Couple’s Photographs
After the family photos were finished the guests headed to the bar and we took the couple outside for a few shots of them together.
These guys had put advance thought into their photos and it turns out they had their first kiss outside of central station near the taxi rank- so what better thing to do on their wedding day than have a kiss in the same place now as husband and wife! The sun was shining which was lucky, and although both Mark and Tracy said they were nervous and shy for their pictures we think they did an amazing job.
We got a few more shots in front of the hotel then it was time for everyone to head in for the meal!

The Speeches
The room was dressed for the meal and looked beautiful with the cake set up which included an amazing couple of figures of the bride and groom..
Tracy’s dad gave the first speech which he kept short and sweet, then it was time for Mark to take the stage. Again he did a great job and had quite a few laughs from the guests.
The best men were next up and gave some funny tales of them and Mark and what they got up to together, including getting Mark up to give a show of his legendary ‘Cat Dance’ they did a great speech and had everyone giggling.

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way to the bar areas to relax while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. The DJs arrived to set up and get ready for the party to begin, there was a photo booth set up and a candy ferris wheel that the kids were going mad for!

We stole the couple away again for a quick trip across to the Telegraph Pub for a few more cute shots of them together as this is where they used to go often when they were first dating so it was really personal to them as a couple. We think they look great with our wooden I DO prop!

After a quick cutting of the cake was done Mr and Mrs Mitchell took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Mark and Tracy didn’t want a traditional first dance so went for a bit of a rock out together with friends and family then joining in the fun! And boy did they know how to have party! The party really started and everyone was having a great time strutting their stuff on the dance floor busting out shapes (yes Mark we saw you pulling those ‘Cat Moves’ again!) with some great tunes played, everyone was loving it.

The party was in full flow when we left. Overall it was a really fun day for everyone and we had a fabulous time. We hope they enjoy their photos as much as we enjoyed taking them! Thanks to Tracy and Mark for choosing us to photograph their very fun filled wedding day and allowing us to capture their memories to treasure for years to come, we had a blast!

We wish you all the best for the future together as husband and wife!

Wedding photography at Slaley Hall

Amy & Steven

Slaley Hall, Northumberland

Amy met us at a wedding fair at Gosforth Racecourse. After a chat with her on the day she contacted us soon after to book for her wedding photography at Slaley Hall, Northumberland. She loved our relaxed style of photography and we were really looking forward to the couple’s fun filled day!

Getting Ready
Amy chose to get ready with her family and the couple’s children at their home. Hair and makeup was well underway when we arrived and everyone was in good spirits for the day ahead!

The groom’s father arrived as he was driving the bride to the ceremony in his Jaguar. He looked very proud to carry out this role and was dressed for the occasion including a chauffeur’s hat.

The theme was a pretty lilac and all the dresses looked great on their personalised hangers Amy organised. Amy’s dress was a true princess dress with lots of layers and lace. Amy’s daughter Neve was super excited to get ready.

Amy was ready to get into her amazing dress, she was helped into it by her bridesmaid. With her look complete by adding shoes and jewellery and a gorgeous bouquet she looked like a princess and was ready to go!

Everyone else was ready so it was off the hotel to see the groom!
We arrived at Slaley Hall ahead of the bride so went to see the groom and his right hand men before the ceremony was to begin. The weather was doing well and looking lovely, the couple had originally planned an outdoor ceremony but unfortunately with rain scheduled to arrive at any moment they agreed to move things indoors. But for now Steven was enjoying the sunshine greeting guests.

He was a little nervous and trying not to show it! We grabbed few shots of the groomsmen and also of the kids who had arrived. Then the weather started to turn and it was time to head in.

The Ceremony
Steven greeted guests as they took their seats and took his position at the front of the room for the ceremony to start. We could see he was a little emotional as he waited for Amy to come down the aisle, he was really trying to hold it together!
The bridesmaids went first down the aisle followed by Amy who was walked down the aisle by her dad to meet her groom.

The couple made their wedding vows to each other and there was lots of laughter and some tears throughout after a bit of funny word fluffing! They exchanged the wedding rings and Steven was then announced to kiss his beautiful bride and they were officially married!
The formalities of signing the register were completed and we took a few shots with the register then everyone headed to the bar area for a drinks reception and to congratulate the happy couple!

We grabbed the group photo as there was a break in the rain then had to do the rest of the family portraits indoors. We try to keep the family formal photos brief so guest don’t get bored, it usually takes around half an hour. Once they are out the way guests were able to head back to the bar. This is then a great time to have your photos done together as a couple as guests are less likely to miss you as they will be getting a drink, freshening up, and chatting about the day so far.

The Romantic Husband & Wife Photographs
Slaley Hall is set in beautiful grounds for your wedding photography- unfortunately the rain stopped us getting out to enjoy it. This isn’t too much of an issue there though as inside the venue is amazing. We had a walk through the hotel using the different areas, like the whiskey snug, to get lots of different shots and even got to use our brand new I DO prop sign. This was a couple that embraced their day and had a blast doing their portraits! You can tell they had a lot of fun and are so happy and in love. One of our favourite photos is Steven deciding to remove Amy’s garter with his teeth, which you can see below!.

The Speeches
By the time we were finished with all the photo fun it was time to head to the main room for the speeches and wedding breakfast.

The room looked fab decorated with pretty centre pieces and a giant illuminated LOVE sign.
Amy’s dad gave the first speech and did a great job. Steven was up next and gave out thanks to everyone for helping and said how lovely the bride looked (Well done Steven- extra brownie points for you!) and then it was time for the best man’s speech. The best man had some tales to tell and got some laughs from the audience and some funny reactions from everyone at the top table. Steven was also proud to show off his Breitling watch he received as a gift from his new wife.

Some extra pretty couples portraits!
When the meal had finished the sun had come out and it had begun to dry up! Of course we couldn’t resist the opportunity to go out onto the green and into the Chinese Gardens to get some more pretty portraits of these gorgeous guys. We also took the chance to get a few extra family portraits outdoors with the better weather!

Party time!
The guests made their way back out to the bar area while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. The DJ arrived to set up and ready for the party to begin, the projector was up displaying the images for guests to see, we used the venue’s built in projector which displayed the images a lot bigger than usual so it ws amazing to see our work blown up so large! It gave the guests a great view of the day so far! There was a fab photo booth for silly pictures for the night! We also had a signing frame out as a guest book alternative for everyone to leave messages to the happy couple, and there was a big candy ferris wheel out filled with treats.

After the cutting of the cake was done Mr and Mrs Hunton took to the dance floor for their first romantic dance as newlyweds then Amy had a special dance with her dad.
A lot of people were on the dance floor and everyone was having a lot of fun! They were still enjoying themselves when we headed off home!

Overall it was a really fun day for everyone involved. We hope they like their photos as much as we do! Thanks to Amy & Steven for choosing us to photograph their wedding day and allowing us to capture their memories to keep- it was emotional, entertaining and overall full of fun and happiness!

We wish you all the best for the future together as Mr & Mrs Hunton!

Wedding photography at The Hilton hotel, Newcastle

Laura & Graham

The Hilton hotel, Newcastle

Laura and Graham booked us immediately after meeting us at a wedding fair held at Gosforth Racecourse. Laura said she knew straight away she wanted to book us for their wedding photography to capture their big day. They were getting married at a gorgeous old church in Gateshead then for their reception at The Hilton Hotel in Gateshead.

Getting Ready
Laura got ready at her mums home with her bridesmaids and mum as well.
When we arrived the room was full of activity getting everyone prepared for the big day! The girls were doing their own make up and the hairdresser was doing a fab job making everyone look stunning.

Nick popped down the street to the couple’s house which is where Graham was getting ready with his groomsmen for a few shots too, they were all in great spirits and graham didn’t look too nervous! The cars arrived to take the guys to the church- two beautiful white sports cars! The guys were all excited for that journey!

Back at Laura’s mum’s the bridesmaids were dressed and had been given lovely gifts as thank you’s and it was time for Laura to get her gown on. Mum helped her get into the dress and laced up the corset back (these can be tricky to do so little leopard was on hand to offer some advice and assistance!)

She added her jewellery and shoes and with her bouquet in hand she was ready! The bridesmaids came in the room to see their friend fully ready and it all got a bit emotional with lots of happy tears.

Uncle Harold was ready to do his duty of giving Laura away and they were off to the church in the vintage car the bride had chosen.

The Ceremony
The guests were all taking their seats waiting for the arrival of the bridal party, and Graham was at the front with his best man.

The chosen church is a fabulous old building full of character and an amazing altar and windows. Laura had arrived and the music began for the bridal procession to enter.
Graham looked happy to see Laura arrive and the ceremony began. The couple made their wedding vows to each other, and they had some family members did some lovely readings. They exchanged wedding rings and Graham got to kiss his bride and the register was signed to make everything official!

They walked back up the aisle as Mr and Mrs Gofton and they left the church
Everyone headed out to the front of the church for the family and group photographs, with the sun shining we got the formalities over with quickly so guests could then head off to the Hilton Hotel and relax to enjoy the rest of the day.

The Romantic Mr & Mrs Photographs
After the family photos were finished the guests were all heading to the hotel, we kept the couple at the church for a few shots with the wedding car then whisked the bride and groom away for a short time to grab some gorgeous couple’s shots down at the scenic Newcastle Quayside. The location of the Hilton Hotel makes it perfect for your wedding photographs as its got so many landmark sights on its doorstep close by!

We took advantage of the surroundings and went across the millennium bridge and along the edge of the quayside with the background showing things like the Tyne Bridge, The Sage, and The Baltic. With these pictures there is definitely no mistaking the area where they got married!

For all Graham was nervous for the photos we think you cant tell at all and he did a great job!

We did some more photos later on with the couple at the hotel with the bridges in the background there too and even managed to snap a celebrity with them! Graham is a big football fan so spotting Newcastle United’s newest signing- Georginio Wijnaldum who was staying at the hotel was so exciting they had to have a photo together! He was lovely and very happy to pose with the couple.

The Speeches
The room was set ready for the meal and looked amazing with the cake set up and pretty centrepieces. Guests came in and took their seats for the speeches to begin.
Laura’s uncle and her mum gave the first speech with some lovely words and a lot of emotion- they had put together a fab video of old photos and them signing along to a favourite song. They were clearly proud of the couple and caused a few happy tears all round.

The groom was next and gave a nice speech and said how happy he was to be married
Best man was next to speak and did a great job- we think graham had been a little nervous about what might be said! There was also a short speech from one of the bridesmaids, and a few words from Laura’s sister that were passed on as a traditional saying from their late nanna.

After the speeches we took a break to let everyone enjoy their meal and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see! We love our Image Projector service and it goes down so well with guests, it’s a wonderful way to include evening guests in what happened during the day time and a great talking point for everyone too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way to the bar areas to relax while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. There was a sweet buffet, and our projector was up displaying the images for guests to see and the photo booth was ready to go all came together beautifully.

After a quick cutting of the cake was done Mr and Mrs Gofton took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, all the guests were watching.

This was followed by a dance with Laura and her Mum which was a lovely sentimental touch.

The kids were running round having lots of fun. The party really started then and everyone was having a great time partying on the dance floor. The night was in full flow when we left with and looked like it was set to continue into the early hours of the morning!
