Mr & Mrs Rennie 26th july
St Hilda's, Hartlepool
Anthony and Leigh picked a gorgeous church, St Hilda’s, on the headland at Hartlepool for their wedding ceremony, and guests didn’t have far to go for the reception as it was just across the road at The Duke of Cleveland, St Hilda’s church is a big building full of character, the ideal setting for a Hartlepool wedding.
Leigh got ready at home with her sister and her twin nieces. The house was peaceful and calm when we arrived while Leigh was having her makeup applied by her makeup artist. Her hair was in a pretty up do with gorgeous silver crystal combs. The twins wore matching Cadbury purple floor length gowns and they had matching bouquets to Leigh’s bridal bouquet.
Anthony was waiting at the church with his best man and the couple’s children Addison and Luke. They were all looking smart in their suits awaiting the Leigh’s arrival. Anthony was doing a good job of not looking too nervous and all was well. The bride was clearly excited for her wedding as she was ready and outside the church early!
Leigh’s dad walked her down the aisle and the church service begun, the kids were clearly happy to see mum arrive and had great fun running about with their toys keeping them occupied. It was an extra special occasion as Anthony and Leigh chose to have the two children christened immediately after the wedding so it was a full family affair of special things! The children were super well behaved and there were no tears even when the water was poured on their heads. After a quick sign of the register everyone went to the church steps to throw confetti at the new Mrs and Mrs Rennie.
We took a short walk across the Hartlepool Tea Gardens for the group and family photos. The guests had a short walk up the road to the reception venue while Leigh and Anthony spent a little bit of time with us for some couples photos. We had a lovely walk around the Tea Gardens and took some beautiful shots for them, there was a great view overlooking the beach at the headland which we had to take advantage of and such a gorgeous sunny day. The couple were relaxed and were open to all our ideas for their photos fully enjoying their special day.
At the reception everyone enjoyed a lovely meal and we had the speeches. Leigh’s dad did a great job, and the groom got quite emotional when talking about his love for his family, new wife and how generally happy he was (he almost had us in tears too!)
We spent a little bit of time with the groomsmen outside having some fun photos, they were strutting their stuff in our shades and having the time of their lives posing!
Later on in the night we had the cutting of the amazing Frozen themed wedding cake (which went down well with the kids!) and the first dance which was followed by a dance with Leigh an her dad which was lovely. As the bride and groom were having so much fun having their photos taken we went across to the Tea Gardens for some dusky night shots and popped across the road to the beach. The square in the gardens was decorated with bright flags ready for the carnival in the next few days so we had to take advantage of the setting for a couple of last shots before we left, I think you will all agree they look stunning.
Overall it was a wonderful relaxed day for everyone and guests all had a fabulous time too. They have a gorgeous set of photos to come from the day, it does show that you get out of your photos what you put into it.
Thanks Anthony and Leigh for choosing us to photograph your wonderful wedding day and capture these precious memories. We wish you all the best for the future!
