Debbie & Tom
Dissington Hall
Debbie & Tom met us at a wedding fair where we were
exhibiting. They liked our work and the package we had available so booked us a
little while later for their wedding photography at Dissington Hall in
December. Originally they had booked
their wedding at Longhirst Hall and sadly were one of the couples let down when
the venue suddenly closed down.
Fortunately they were able to get booked at a new venue for the same
date!
Dissington Hall is a lovely venue, we were sad to hear
that they have now stopped taking wedding bookings, so it was lovely we got to
photograph one there before they stopped!
Getting
Ready
Debbie had hair done at home before arriving at the
venue and was putting final touches to make up. She had her bridesmaids with
her as well as her daughter. The couple’s son was with Tom for the morning,
while their daughter was with the girls. The kids were all excited!
Dresses were being put on and jewellery fastened, Debbie’s
dad arrived at the room ready to walk her down the aisle.
With everyone ready and Debbie was dressed in her bridal
gown it was time to head downstairs for the ceremony
The
Ceremony
The bridal procession made their way down the stairs and
Debbie entered the room on the arm of her dad.
Debbie and Tom made their vows to each other and wedding
rings were exchanged between them. The couple had their first kiss as husband
and wife and the register was signed. After they walked up the aisle looking
very happy everyone had a drinks reception in the bar area.
We had some group photos with the family and friends in
one of the gorgeous rooms as it was freezing outside!
The
Couple’s Portraits
We left the guests enjoying their drinks and chatting to
each other and headed outside for a short walk around the grounds to catch some
gorgeous photos of the newlyweds together.
The weather was on our side for all it was freezing cold
it was a clear day and there was no rain, not bad for just after Christmas!
We had some shots
with the beautiful hall in the background, and used the beautiful scenic
countryside as a backdrop for some pretty poses. We didn’t stay out for too
long due to the temperature, Debbie and Emily also had a few shots with our
vintage parasol’s for some cute mum and daughter pictures! We had a few more
shots indoors in the rooms and on the staircase with the kids too.
We headed back into the hall for the meal and speeches.
The
Speeches
We headed up to
the reception room, which was a marquee, ready for the speeches and the meal.
The room was dressed with a Christmassy feel with blue being the theme, there
were snowflakes on the cake and even sweet little bauble place card holders.
The couple had a receiving line and greeted their guests
as they entered the room and cut their cake in front of all the guests first
then everyone took their seats ready for the speeches to start.
Father of the bride went first and had some lovely words
to say about the couple. Tom went next and thanked everyone for coming and gave
out thank you gifts and said how happy he was for Debbie to be his wife. The
best man took the stage last with some funny tales to tell about Tom that gave
everyone a giggle! Now the speeches were over everyone settled down for their
amazing meal.
We then took a break to let everyone enjoy their food
and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they
could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to
see! We love our projector service, it’s
a wonderful way to include evening guests in everything that happened during
the day time and a great talking point for guests too, as well as giving the
Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!
Party
time!
After the meal the guests made their way to the bar
while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. The DJ was set up
and ready for the party to begin, the projector was up displaying the images
for guests to see. The kids had a great
time running around the dance floor chasing the lights and Emily was having
lots of fun with granddad on the dance floor.
Mr and Mrs McMaster
hit the dance floor for their first dance as newlyweds. We set off one of our fun confetti cannons to
add a bit of fun to the first dance pictures (please let us know if you want us
to supply one of these for your first dance! They make amazing first dance
pictures!)
Other couples joined them on the dance floor and the DJ got people up on to strut their stuff, and everyone was having a great time and were
still enjoying themselves when we headed off home!
It was a lovely day for all involved, a great
celebration after the festivities of Christmas. We had a great day at a
stunning venue with a lovely family. We hope they love their photos. Thanks to Debbie
& Tom for choosing us to photograph their wedding day and allow us to
capture their memories.
