Wedding photography at Eshott Hall

Kate & Gareth

Eshott Hall

Kate & Gareth found booked us some time ago to do their wedding photography at the gorgeous Eshott Hall. They had chosen a fabulous venue. Kate had lots of plans for the big day and from when they booked us we were really looking forward to their wedding day!

Getting Ready
Kate had stayed at Eshott Hall the night before with friends and family and we arrived things were nice and chilled out.  The bridesmaids were having their hair pinned up by Richard who was doing an amazing job, and make up was being expertly applied by Carli from The Big Event Company.  We often work with Carli at weddings and she always does a stunning job.

There were plenty drinks flowing and everyone was getting very excited.

Meanwhile Nick popped across to ‘the crows nest’ where Gareth the groom was getting ready with the rest of the guys and his usher, Eliphe. Poor Gareth was very nervous during the morning, his best man and usher were trying well to keep him calm! They were all ready to go so headed down to greet guests and get ready for the ceremony to begin.

Kate’s hair was finished with her veil added and with help from her mum her jewellery finished the look. Kate’s mum helped her get her dress on and set to work doing the many tiny buttons up on the back of the dress. Her dress was amazing, a fitted lace covered gown and Kate truly looked like she had stepped out of a magazine when she was ready.
As the bridesmaids came in there were a few tears when they came back in the room and saw Kate fully ready! After a quick touch up of lipstick they were all ready to leave.

The Ceremony
The guests were all in their seats waiting for the arrival of the bridal party, and Gareth was at the front still suffering with nerves.
Kate was in their gorgeous vintage wedding car, accompanied by her dad, for the short journey from the hall down to the reading room where the ceremony was to be held. The building for the ceremony is beautiful, it looks like a little chapel with gorgeous windows, and the flowers and chair sashes brought everything together.

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle first, and then Kate’s dad proudly walked her down the aisle. Gareth looked so happy to see her. The couple made their wedding vows to each other and exchanged wedding rings. The groom got to kiss his bride and the register was signed to make everything official!

Gareth looked far more at ease with all his nerves vanished now the ceremony was out the way! They walked back up the aisle as Mr and Mrs Montague and we went outside for some confetti shots!

The guests headed back up to the hall, the main building where the rest of the day would be, while we kept the couple for a view shots under the arched entrance to the reading room and with the quirky vintage telephone box that is there too.

After the drinks reception we went out to the front of the hotel for the big group photo and to have some family formal photos taken as well.

The Romantic Couple’s Photographs
After the family photos were finished we had a few pictures with the bride and groom with the wedding car, then walked around the grounds to take some wedding portraits outdoors.
Eshott hall is great for your wedding portraits as the grounds are beautiful. The weather was on our side with sunshine although it was definitely cold! Due to the temperature we didn’t want to keep them out too long but used a few of our props like our vintage parasol for some pictures too.

They had a great time posing for their photos but we had to get back inside before we all froze and got blue fingers!

The Speeches
The room was set ready for the meal and looked amazing with the cake set up and pretty floral centrepieces. The room was set off by the giant light up initial letters from Coco Luminaire. Guests came in and took their seats for the speeches to begin.

Kate’s dad gave the first speech telling about her growing up and when she met Gareth, it was a lovely heartfelt speech with some laughter too.
Kate’s mum also gave a speech with some lovely words and it was clear she was very proud of her daughter and fond of Gareth.
The groom Gareth was up next and had a short speech thanking everyone for coming and telling everyone how happy he was.

The best man was last to take the stage and gave some funny tales of him and Gareth and what they got up to together, he had some jokes included that gave everyone quite a laugh!
After the speeches we then took a break to let everyone enjoy their meal and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see!  We love our Image Projector service and it goes down fabulously with guests as it’s a wonderful way to include evening guests in what happened during the day time and a great talking point for everyone too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way to the bar areas to relax while the room was set up ready for the evening celebrations. The band arrived to set up and get ready for the party to begin, there was a photo booth, and our projector was up displaying the images for guests to see.
After a quick cutting of the cake was done Mr and Mrs Montague took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, all the guests were enjoying watching and then others joined them on the dance floor. The party really started then and everyone was having a great time strutting their stuff on the dance floor. The giant letters were at the side of the dance floor and really add to the photos as you can see. The party was in full flow when we left with all sorts of shapes being thrown!

Overall it was a really fun day for everyone and we had a brilliant time. We hope they enjoy their photos as much as we enjoyed taking them! Thanks to Kate and Gareth for choosing us to photograph their wedding day and allowing us to capture their memories to treasure for years to come, we had a blast!

We wish you all the best for the future together as husband and wife!
