Wedding photography at The Grand hotel, Tynemouth

Scott & Mysa

The Grand hotel, Tynemouth

Scott & Mysa booked us to do their wedding photography and The Grand Hotel in Tynemouth for their November wedding. They met us at a wedding fair we were exhibiting at held at The Village Hotel. They booked the wedding late on so only had a few months to get everything done but they managed it all and the day went perfectly as you can read below.

Getting Ready
Mysa was getting ready at Scott’s mum’s house with the family. Mysa’s family live in the Philippines so unfortunately couldn’t make it but Scott’s family made her more than welcome. Hair had been taken care of at a local salon, and the Make up artist was putting finishing touches to everyone’s faces. The little page boy was in his suit and look super cute! Scott’s granddad was going to be walking Mysa down the aisle so had a very important job to do.
Mysa got dressed in her gorgeous wedding gown and added a veil and jewellery for finishing touches. Everyone was ready to go!

The Ceremony
The ceremony was a little delayed as unfortunately the mini bus with many of the guest in broke down on the way to the venue! Fortunately they got it running again and the guests arrived a little late but the ceremony could still go ahead! Mysa had done a few laps round Tynemouth in the car while she was waiting!
The wedding procession entered the room with the page boy leading, followed by the bridesmaid and then Mysa and Grandad.
The vows were made to each other and wedding rings were exchanged between the couple. Scott got to kiss his new wife and the register was signed. We had some photos with the family and the register then the happy couple left the room looking incredibly happy together

The Couple’s Photographs
After a drinks reception we stole the couple away for a little bit to take some stunning wedding portraits next to Tynemouth Priory. This is a great time to have your couples photos done as guests will be happy to mingle and chat to each other about the ceremony and enjoy a drink before the meal so at this point of the day they won’t miss the bride and groom being there for a little while.

The weather was on our side which was great for late November! We had some shots with the beautiful Daimler wedding car which matched the colour theme of deep red, in front of the priory, and we had a walk over to the grass overlooking the sea for some amazing scenic shots.

You can tell this couple are blissfully happy together in love and it shows in the pictures. They had a great time posing for their photos, Mysa loved our vintage parasol and props!
We headed back to The Grand Hotel for the reception.

The Speeches
We headed up to the reception room, an amazing room overlooking the sea, ready for the speeches and the meal.

The speeches were short and sweet from the groom who told of how him and Mysa met and the best man gave a great speech that had scott in fits of laughter as well as the guests. Scott’s mum also gave a lovely speech which had everyone a little emotional. Thank you gifts were given out and everyone was ready for a wonderful meal to be served..
We then took a break to let everyone enjoy their meal, and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see! We did pop back in to grab some shots at dessert time as The Grand Hotel traditionally serve the bride and groom’s dessert covered in a spun sugar basket and they both use a spoon to break each other’s basket before delving into dessert!
We love our projector service, its a wonderful way to include evening guests in everything that happened during the day time and a great talking point for guests too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!
As the couple had booked out Triple 8 all inclusive package we also set up their signing frame and our PropBox for some entertainment for the evening

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way to the grand staircase for some family photos, we did a big group shot first then some smaller family photos as there was a gap before the party started. The evening was to be held in a different room downstairs.
The DJ was set up and ready for the party to begin! The kids had a great time running around the dance floor chasing the lights and the DJ got people up on the dance floor to strut their stuff, the drinks were flowing and spirits high and everyone was having great fun with the PropBox.

Mr and Mrs Isaacs hit the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple. We set off one of our fun confetti cannons (please let us know if you want us to supply one of these for your first dance! They make amazing first dance pictures!) To add extra flair to the photos.
Then the party got going with lots of dancing and it was still going well when we left!
Overall it was a fabulous day for everyone and we really enjoyed ourselves. We hope they like their photos as much as we do! Thanks to them for choosing us to photograph their wedding day and allow us to capture their memories to keep and look back at over years to come.

We wish you lots of health and happiness for the future together!
