Wedding photography at The Caledonian hotel

Gary and Louise

The Caledonian hotel, Jesmond

We have known Gary and Louise for a while now, they have three lovely children and we think Louise thought they would never get round to having the wedding! But they did so here is their amazing day which we had the pleasure of providing the wedding photography for at The Caledonian Hotel in Jesmond.
Gary is a huge film fanatic so it was an obvious choice to follow a movie theme- James Bond films were the basis of the wedding theme!

Getting Ready
Louise had stayed at the hotel the night before with the girls so when we arrived everyone was full of excitement and the room was buzzing with activity! The bride had her hair & make up done and everyone else was putting final touches to themselves ready for the day.

Louise’s mum had handmade all the deep blue bridesmaids dresses, her own dress and customised Louise’s dress to exactly how she wanted it to be. The bride even had some awesome movie themed nail art to match!
The men had arrived suited and booted with the groom Gary looking very much the James Bond part and the 3 boys looked super cute in matching suits! Everyone was ready and all the guests were waiting in the ceremony room for the bride to arrive.

The Ceremony
Louise’s dad was walking her down the aisle, this was a very special moment for him and you could tell he was very proud to have this role and enjoyed every second.
The ceremony was light hearted and the groom’s sense of humour was present throughout which gave everyone a giggle. It all got a bit much for one of the boys, hats off to the Caledonian staff who looked after him throughout the ceremony and kept him happy.
The bride and groom made their wedding vows to each other and exchanged their wedding rings. Gary got to kiss his beautiful bride then the usual signing the register was done and they left the room newly married as husband and wife looking very happy as they walked back up the aisle!

Everyone headed out to the courtyard for reception drinks- Shaken, not stirred! The weather although being a bit chilly was holding out and there was no rain so we managed to get the group photo and the formal family photos all done!

The Couple’s Photographs
While the weather was on our side the guest went back in to the hotel to hit the bar while we kept the newlyweds for some romantic photographs together.
We had good fun taking their photos, using some of our favourite props and taking advantage of the martini glasses to get some Bond-esque style photos. Gary has a great sense of humour and kept Louise laughing throughout which gave some great natural photographs of a couple happy to be married and clearly right for each other

The Speeches
We headed into to the reception room, ready for the speeches and the meal.
The speeches were very emotional to all involved, Billy gave a lovely speech and was clearly proud of Louise, Gary and his grandchildren. Gary had a tough act to follow after Billy’s moving speech so he only managed a few words.
We then took a break to let everyone enjoy their amazing meal, and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see!

We love our projector service, it’s a wonderful way to include evening guests in everything that happened during the day time and a great talking point for guests too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!

Party time!
After the meal the guests made their way back to the bar area while the room was turned around ready for the evening.  The slideshow was ready to play on the projector for the evening and the DJ was getting set up ready to go.
We spent a bit of time with the guys and the girls outside for a few fun photos of them all together outside the entrance and they all had a lot of fun jumping and posing!

Then the party was ready to begin!  The kids had a great time running around the dance floor chasing the lights and the drinks were flowing and spirits high.

Mr and Mrs Crossley cut their gorgeous cake(which was handmade by the bride who rund Loulabelles Ocassions) and then they hit the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple.  We put one of the bridesmaids in charge of setting off one of our fab confetti cannons (please let us know if you want us to supply one of these for your first dance! They make amazing first dance pictures!) to add to the photos.

The party was still going strong when we left and everyone was having a blast!
We had a great day photographing the Crossley wedding, The Caledonian is a great venue for your wedding if you are looking around for places, we love going there for wedding photography.  We hope Gary and Louise like their photos as much as we do!
Thanks to Mr and Mrs Crossley for choosing us to photograph their day and allow us to capture their memories to keep and look back at over years to come.

We wish you all the best for the future together as Mr & Mrs!
