Autumn wedding at Holy cross church

Leanne & Steven October 2014

Holy cross church and the hiding place

Leanne and Steven were recommended to us by a friend we have taken photos for before. It’s always lovely to hear we have been highly recommended by our previous clients! They were having their ceremony at the Holy cross church in Fenham and then were going to The Hiding Place at Kingston Park for their wedding reception. They were planning a fabulous relaxed wedding day with all their friends and family sharing it with them.

Getting Ready
Leanne was getting ready at home with her mum, bridesmaids and her daughters Heidi and Isla. Hair was being done when we arrived and the children, especially Heidi, were very excited to get their dresses on!
Leanne applied her own make up. She got the children ready and they both looked adorable. The maid of honour helped the bride into her dress and with mums help they got it all fastened.

With everyone ready the car arrived to take them to the church.

The Ceremony
The groom was already at the church and wasn’t too looking nervous which is unusual. He had his best man with him for support.
The bridesmaid and children went down the aisle and Leanne walked down on her father’s arm, he looked thrilled to be giving her away, to meet her groom.
There were hymns sung, and the couple made their vows to each other and exchanged wedding rings. The register was signed and the couple were now officially husband and wife!

We went outside to the church grounds for the big group photo and some formal shots with the family. We always try to make these quick so everyone doesn’t get bored!

The romantic Mr and Mrs photos
For October the weather was definitely on our side, it was quite cold but it was dry and sunny! We got the car to take the couple from the church towards The Hiding Place and stopped at a patch of land just a few minutes away near an airfield. An unusual area to use for couples portraits but it was perfect.

We had some shots with the beautiful vintage car and then had a walk round by the trees and field with a few of our props like our fab vintage lace parasol.
There are some beautiful shots of the happy newlyweds who anyone can see are made for each other and very much in love. They had a lot of fun having their romantic photos done and this shows in the images.

The low light shining through the trees in the background looks amazing and really goes to show you can take gorgeous pictures just about anywhere!

The Speeches
We headed down to The Hiding Place and everyone was ready for some food and tucked into the buffet. After the meal it was time for the speeches!
The speeches were short and sweet from the best man and Leanne’s dad and then the bride and groom took the microphone to thank all their guests for coming.

Party time!
The DJ was then set up and ready for the party to begin! The kids had a great time running around the dance floor chasing the lights and dancing, and the drinks were flowing and spirits high.

Mr and Mrs Parker cut their gorgeous cake and then hit the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple. We set off one of our fun confetti cannons (please let us know if you want us to supply one of these for your first dance! They make amazing first dance pictures!) to add to the photos which gave a bit of a wow factor then everyone else joined them on the dance floor including Heidi who was having a wonderful time!
got into full swing with lots of dancing and it was still ongoing when we left!

Overall it was a brilliant fun day for everyone and we really enjoyed ourselves. We are really hope they love their photos and have a gorgeous set of photos to keep. We hope they like them as much as we do!

Thanks to Mr and Mrs Parker for choosing us to photograph their day and allow us to capture their memories to keep and look back at over years to come and remember their day
