Newcastle wedding photographer at the DeVere Village hotel

Sarah and Andrew 22nd August 2014
The Village Hotel, Newcastle

We first met Sarah and Andrew when we were exhibiting at The Village Hotel Newcastle for their wedding fair (which was also the venue they had chosen for their big day). Sarah had said she liked our style as soon as she saw our work and after a chat they booked us on the day. Andrew was taken by the unique Godfather table photos we take at the venue using their Buca restaurant. The Village Hotel Newcastle is one of our favourite venues to photograph so we were really looking forward to their big day!

GettingReady
Sarah was getting ready at the hotel and had her hair done in a curled up-do by the hairdresser, and her makeup artist expertly applied her make up to finish the look! The others had their hair and makeup done too so everyone looked glam for the day! Sarah had a beautiful dress to wear and was excited to put it on! Sarah chose not to go for regular pretty heels for her wedding, instead opting for her and her flower girls to wear some stunning hand painted customised converse sneakers! They looked great, they followed the black and white wedding theme with buttons, and had the date and new married name painted on, and the children loved theirs! Oliver, Sarah and Andrews’s son Oliver was very smart, with a flower girl on each arm he looked like a proper little gentleman in his suit!
The bridesmaids were dressed in black and white, and had a beautiful button bouquet to match the brides’ button bouquet. With jewellery on and a bit of lippy the girls were ready to head downstairs. Mean while Andrew was waiting downstairs looking a little nervous waiting for Sarah to arrive.

The Ceremony
The bridal procession was Sarah and her dad, the bridesmaids, flower girls and the pageboys. They all looked amazing, if a little nervous, as they entered the room. The couple made their wedding vows to each other then exchanged rings (we’re sure Andrew was a little shaky handed!). Andrew got to kiss the bride then the formalities of signing the register were done and they left the room newly married as Mr & Mrs Lowson.

Romantic lakeside photographs
We went out to the steps after a drinks reception for some super confetti throwing and the formal photographs. Guests headed back in to relax at the bar before the meal and we stole the couple away for a short while for some romantic couple’s photographs across the road at the country park. There is a short country walkway and a pretty lake area for photographs, although Andrew said he was expecting to hate having his photographs taken he had to admit he’d felt very relaxed and we even think he enjoyed it a little! We popped into the Buca restaurant to take advantage of the setting in there for a few more husband and wife photos, and then it was time to get ‘the boys’ into the restaurant for some mean looking gangster photos at The Godfather table! They played with cards and put on their best poker faces, and we even squeezed a couple of photos in doing shots at the bar! The girls not to be outdone by the boys posed expertly in the Sophia Loren booth (which sadly has now been removed so this was the last time we used that setting)
The speeches were brief but light hearted and meaningful and everyone settled down to their meal.

A bit of extra posing fun!
After the meal we had a little gap before the evening do began so spent a bit more time with the groomsmen and the bridesmaids on the balcony having some fun shots with glasses, photo frames and jumping in the air! The girls were loving our parasol and did a great job strutting their stuff!

Party time!
The room had been transformed for the night time celebrations with white drapes all round the room and coloured up lighting and our friends Fourstar events had supplied a twinkly white LED dance floor and with Chris from the company being DJ for the night it was set to be a great party night! Fourstar regularly work at the village for weddings and party events, true professionals they know how to get everyone up on the floor!
Mr and Mrs Lowson hit the dance floor for their first married dance together, choosing P!NK’s True Love for their song. It’s nice to have an outside the box first dance song. A couple of minutes into the song we set off one of our confetti cannons showering he bride and groom in confetti giving some fab photos! Other couples then joined them on the dance floor to party the night away! Oliver and his little friends joined in as well, the LED dance floor had the children mesmerised and the party was still in full swing when we left!

Overall it was a wonderful day for everyone and we had fabulous time as well. This couple have an beautiful set of photos to come from their wedding day. We hope they like them as much as we do! Thanks Sarah and Andrew for choosing us to photograph your fun filled day and capture those amazing memories for you to cherish for years to come. We wish you all the best for the future as husband and wife!
