Wedding Photography at St. Mary Magdalenes church, Prudhoe

Nicola & Paul Chapman 5th July 2014

St.Mary Magdalenes church, Prudhoe.

Nicola and Paul had chosen a beautiful local church St Mary Magdalenes in Prudhoe which is a small town in Northumberland for their wedding ceremony. Paul’s parents got married there many years previously so a lovely family tradition was being followed.

Nicola got ready at her dads house with her 3 bridesmaids and 3 flower girls, one of the cute little flower girls was Nicola and Paul’s daughter Lily. The house was alive with an excited buzz when we arrived with all the girls getting ready in their matching P.J’s with bucks fizz while getting hair and makeup done. The bridesmaids had gorgeous up do’s and the little flower girls were all in matching French plaits tied with navy ribbon. Lauren the makeup artist even managed to get Nicolas mum to agree to a little make up, and she has never worn make up before, she did a lovely job of mum of the bride Dawns make up.

The bridesmaids were ready in their stylish navy dresses and the flower girls were all in their cute white dresses with matching shoes. It was time for Nicola to get dressed. Nicola put on her beautiful bridal gown with help from her mum and maid of honour. She added sparkly jewellery and some stunning shoes with satin ribbon bows and with her veil added she looked stunning and all ready to go! A limo arrived to take the bridesmaids and Nicola was off to the church in a beautiful navy Bentley.

Paul was waiting at the church with his two best men and his son Bailey and they all looked sharp in matching suits! The button holes matched the bouquets for bride and bridesmaids which were all made of gorgeous roses and thistles in honour of Nicola’s Scottish family ties. Paul was looking a little nervous at the front waiting for his bride to arrive (fashionably late of course!)

Following tradition Nicolas dad walked her down the aisle looking very proud with his daughter on his arm. The church service was lovely with hymns and the couple exchanging rings and saying their vows to each other. Paul finally got to kiss his beautiful bride and they were now husband and wife! After signing the register everyone left the church for some confetti throwing and some photographs outside in the church gardens with friends and family.

We had some time between then and the reception starting so the newly wed Mr & Mrs Chapman were taken to the gorgeous riverside country park for some romantic bride and groom photographs and some shots with the car. The sun was shining, it was a lovely day to be outside. The riverside area at the time of the year is full of greenery providing the perfect scenic background for some amazing romantic shots as you can see. Paul and Nicola we relaxed and enjoying having their photos taken and you can see how happy they are on their special day. They look the perfect couple together.

They then headed to a local club just up the road from the church for their reception where everyone had an amazing buffet meal, which included some fabulous seafood platters which were brought from a restaurant in Scotland where Nicolas brother in law is head chef. After the food the speeches began. We heard from Nicolas dad first who gave an emotional but funny speech that had everyone giggling. Paul then gave some heartfelt thanks to all the help from friends and family as everyone got together to make a lot of the touches that made the wedding look amazing, and told Nicola how wonderful she looked too. Best man had some tales of him and Paul which had everyone entertained too.

There was entertainment for the children with games, balloon modelling, a bit of magic and party dancing, and then the adults got to get up and have a boogie!

Mr and Mrs Chapman cut the gorgeous cake and hit the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. We set off one of our fun confetti canons to add a splash of colour and wow to the dance floor and other couples got up and joined them.

There was also a father and daughter dance which was very touching and everyone gathered to watch. Everyone got back on the dance floor to party the rest of the night away and with the drinks flowing everyone was clearly having an amazing evening!

The day was enjoyed by everyone that came, we have really enjoyed working on the images of the whole day, we had such fun taking their photos. Your little USB package will be winging its way to you soon.

There were some brilliant suppliers involved in the day, thought much of the hard work was done by the couple, and their friends and family!

Thanks Nicola and Paul for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful wedding day and capture these precious memories for you. We wish you a happy married life together!
