Wedding photography at the Vermont hotel, Newcastle

Donna & Dave Nicholas 12th July

The Vermont hotel, Newcastle

Donna and Dave chose to have their wedding day at the fabulous Vermont hotel in the city of Newcastle. The hotel has breathtaking views from the rooftop which overlooks the whole of the quayside with sites of The Sage, Tyne Bridge, The Baltic and more which is perfect for photos. The hotel is equally beautiful on the inside.

Donna got ready at the hotel with her bridesmaids, mum and flower girls, it was one of the hottest days so far and the weather was looking amazing! The hair and makeup artist did an amazing job for everyone and style the brides hair into an intricate up do. There was a knock at the door and a gift was delivered from Dave for his wife to be, he’d chosen a beautiful necklace and matching earrings for Donna to wear which of course caused the bride to get a bit emotional! The bridesmaids were in beautiful floor length topaz blue gowns and the flower girls had pretty white dresses. Donna dressed in a gorgeous strapless bridal gown with satin shoes and a garter which had her Nana’s ring sewn to it as her something blue and the girls were ready to go.

Donna’s dad, Mac, proudly walked his daughter into the room and down the aisle. The bride and groom said their vows then exchanged rings with each other and were now husband and wife which meant Dave could kiss his new wife! The register was signed and bride and groom left the room followed by their guests, everyone headed up to the rooftop terrace for canapés and drinks reception.

Up on the roof top guests were met by quirky character Chris Cross the magician for some close up magic tricks. He kept everyone thoroughly entertained with some mind blowing tricks while the group photos were done. Everyone was amazed with what he did and their reactions and looks on their faces were priceless.

Guests then headed down for their lovely meal and the speeches began. Donna’s dad gave the first speech and took great delight in embarrassing Dave by pulling out a ginger wig to wear to mock the groom, and also telling tales of Donna as a youngster and teenager much to the bride’s embarrassment! The groom gave a short speech thanking people and giving the wedding party gifts. Dave had two best men as he couldn’t choose just one! His first best man took the mic and gave a great speech. His second best mans speech didn’t go so well, he got stage fright and disappeared out the fire exit. Best man number one took over and read the speech for him, it was funny and entertaining to everyone!

After the meal we whisked the bride and groom away for some fabulous couple’s photos in various locations as there was a lot for us to take advantage of! As soon as we went outdoors there was an amazing red Ferrari for us to take photographs with which looked amazing, we went outside the castle keep using the old stone walls as a background, then across to the bridge round the corner to get some shots in the arch way and finished off back on the roof top for the final shots. All of which look brilliant. We spent a bit of time with the groomsmen who were up for anything we gave them and then got some lovely shots on the steps with the bridesmaids and flower girls. As you can see they did a brilliant job and look blissfully happy.

We prepared a sneaky peeky of the images from the day and set our projector up so guests could see throughout the evening what had gone on over the day. We also had our PropBox set up for the evening so guests got involved with frames, wigs, glasses and more which provided a lot of entertainment and funny pictures

They had a loving first dance then all the guests joined them on the dance floor in couples. This was followed by a Ceilidh band which was fabulous entertainment! This was the first time we had seen a live Ceilidh dance, everyone had so much fun and they were all in fits of giggles.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Nicholas, you are perfect for each other and we wish you a long and happy marriage with many years together ahead of you. Thanks for having us along to your amazing day we loved it all!
